Motorcycle Chase Ends in Collision: Rider Injured, Handgun Recovered
In Oak Ridge North, a patrol officer attempted to stop a motorcycle for a traffic violation. The rider accelerated quickly, leading to a pursuit where officers lost sight of the motorcycle.
A DPS Trooper was alerted by a motorist about the speeding motorcycle heading northbound. Soon after, officers discovered an accident involving the motorcycle and an SUV.
The rider was thrown approximately 20 yards from the impact but sustained non-life-threatening injuries. During the ejection, the rider’s handgun slid about 20 yards down the road.
The rider was taken to The Woodlands Memorial Hermann Hospital. He later admitted to fleeing out of fear.
