Son Charged With Murder in Death of Montgomery County Man
Justin Blount

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Montgomery County man with the murder of his father following an extensive investigation involving multiple law enforcement agencies.

Authorities announced that 38-year-old Justin Blount has been charged in connection with the death of his father, James “Mr. Jim” Blount.

According to investigators, detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Crime Scene Investigators, the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office, and Harris County Sheriff’s Office K-9 teams have been working the case since Mr. Blount was discovered deceased earlier this week.

Investigators said Justin Blount was initially arrested on the day of the incident after authorities determined he had used his deceased father’s credit cards without authorization.

As the investigation progressed, detectives uncovered additional evidence that led them to conclude Justin Blount was not only responsible for the unauthorized use of the victim’s financial resources but was also involved in his father’s death.

Authorities noted that Justin Blount was the individual who initially called 911 and reported finding his father deceased.

Details regarding the cause of death and the specific evidence that led to the murder charge have not yet been released.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office thanked the numerous agencies involved in the investigation for their assistance.

Officials stated that the collaborative efforts of investigators, crime scene personnel, prosecutors, fire investigators, and K-9 teams were instrumental in advancing the case and seeking justice for the victim and his family.
