CONROE, Texas — A 31-year-old man was arrested Tuesday morning, October 20, 2026, after a Flock license plate recognition camera alerted Conroe police to a stolen vehicle near North Loop 336 West.
Tomas Perez, 31, was taken into custody following a brief foot pursuit and charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and evading arrest or detention, both state jail felonies.
According to the Conroe Police Department, officers received an automated stolen vehicle alert from a Flock camera in the area of North Loop 336 West.
Officers responded to the area and located the stolen vehicle, a black Nissan Rogue, parked and unoccupied in a parking lot near the 1200 block of North Loop 336 West.
While monitoring the vehicle from a distance, officers observed a man, later identified as Perez, approach the Nissan and rummage through its interior.
Officers approached in marked patrol units with their emergency lights activated and ordered Perez to exit the vehicle.
Perez exited the Nissan but fled on foot, police said.
Officers pursued Perez and detained him after a short chase without further incident.
Following the investigation, Perez was arrested on two charges:

- Evading Arrest or Detention: State jail felony.
The stolen Nissan Rogue was recovered.
