Father of Three Children Dead in Beaumont Fatal Shooting, Children Found Unharmed in Vehicle

On Sunday, April 7, 2024, at 1:15 AM, officers responded to 1610 IH10E (The Place Convenience Corner Store) after receiving a report of an individual with a gunshot wound.

Upon arrival, officers provided first aid to the victim, identified as Oran Trahan, a 29-year-old man from Beaumont, until EMS arrived. Witnesses stated that Trahan mentioned being shot at The Regent Apartments (1715 Maime) before collapsing. Trahan was transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Three young children were discovered in the backseat of Trahan’s vehicle. The mother of the children arrived at the scene and took custody of them.
