SETX Violent Crime Task Force Arrests Two After Beaumont Pursuit, Seizes Guns and Multiple Drugs

BEAUMONT, Texas – Two men were arrested Tuesday after members of the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force pursued a vehicle and recovered multiple firearms, suspected narcotics and cash during the investigation, authorities said.

At approximately 1:46 p.m. on July 28, 2026, members of the Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force received information that Nathan Vanduren, 20, who was wanted on multiple felony warrants, was in Beaumont.

The task force includes officers from the Beaumont Police Department’s Narcotics and Special Assignment units, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Orange Police Department.

Investigators located Vanduren driving a vehicle in the 1200 block of North 11th Street and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

According to authorities, Vanduren fled, leading officers on a brief vehicle pursuit before he and a passenger, identified as 21-year-old Levi Nash, abandoned the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot.

Both suspects were quickly apprehended.

During the investigation, detectives said they found Vanduren in possession of a large quantity of suspected illegal narcotics, including methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, crack cocaine, synthetic marijuana, alprazolam and Soma.

Officers also seized two handguns, an AR-style rifle and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

Vanduren and Nash were transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility, where they were booked on multiple felony charges, including possession of controlled substances, evading arrest and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

Authorities said the arrest demonstrates the continued cooperation among local, state and federal law enforcement agencies in targeting violent offenders and disrupting illegal narcotics trafficking throughout Southeast Texas.
