Gunfire Erupts in Porter: Two Injured, Investigation Underway

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an assault with a firearm call early this morning (April 8th) in Porter, Texas. The incident occurred in the 21000 block of Old Sorters Road at approximately 12:54 am.

While on route to the scene, Deputies learned that a firearm was discharged during a disturbance, resulting in one male sustaining a gunshot wound to the arm. The injured individual was transported to a local hospital by friends.

Upon arrival at the scene, deputies discovered that a vehicle possibly linked to the shooting had fled the area. Deputies located the vehicle and found a person inside suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Deputies administered life-saving measures until emergency medical services arrived. The injured individual was then transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

Detectives from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Homicide and Violent Crimes Unit, along with Crime Scene Investigators, have commenced an investigation into the incident. They are currently working to identify a suspect and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
