Corpus Christi Officer Injured Serving Warrant; Suspect at Large

On Wednesday, February 19, 2025, at approximately 10:12 p.m., Corpus Christi Police Department officers attempted to serve a warrant for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon at a residence in the 4700 block of Lansdown Drive. As officers stood at the door, a single shot was fired from inside the residence, injuring one officer. The officer sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene by Corpus Christi Fire Department medics.

Following the gunfire, officers called for additional assistance and established a perimeter around the residence. The Hostage Negotiation Team made multiple attempts to contact the suspect inside, but received no response. SWAT operators then deployed indoor drones and robots to clear the residence; however, the suspect was not located. A continued police presence remains at the scene as officers secure and execute a search warrant.

The injured officer has been placed on administrative leave in accordance with department policy. The Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating the incident and pursuing additional charges against the suspect. Authorities believe this to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to public safety.

The Criminal Investigations Division has identified Juliano Carrillo as the suspect who fired upon Corpus Christi Police Officers attempting to serve an arrest warrant on him.
