Beaumont Police Seek Person of Interest in Fatal Shooting of 17-Year-Old

On Friday, February 2nd, 2024, at 10:58 pm, officers responded to a shooting incident in the 1000 block of Campus.

Upon arrival, they found 17-year-old Louis Mitchell unresponsive on the front porch. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) pronounced Mitchell deceased.

Detectives are actively searching for a person of interest, identified as Melvin Jerome Watson, a 63-year-old resident of Beaumont.
