Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on I-10 in Beaumont

On Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 2:26 am, Beaumont Police responded to a major crash on the 1000 block of I-10 North (Eastbound in front of Classic Acura) involving a motorcycle.

According to preliminary investigations, the motorcyclist, identified as 56-year-old James Bolt from Sour Lake, lost control while attempting to close a saddlebag that had opened on his motorcycle. As a result, he collided with the center concrete divider, ejecting him onto the westbound lanes of traffic.

Bolt was then struck by an unknown 18-wheeler.

Beaumont EMS arrived on-scene and Bolt was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
