Arrest Made in Braeswood Boulevard 2022 Taco Truck Shooting
Houston Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a shooting that occurred at a taco truck located at 8700 South Braeswood Boulevard on November 3, 2022. Jeremy Scott Hartman, 19, has been charged with aggravated assault-serious bodily injury.
The incident took place around 9:40 p.m., where officers responded to reports of a shooting and found a 19-year-old victim inside the taco truck suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was hospitalized in critical condition at the time.
According to investigators, a dark gray, four-door Cadillac arrived at the location and fired shots into the taco truck before fleeing the scene. Surveillance photos of the vehicle were released to the public on November 8, 2022.
Thanks to tips from community members, HPD Major Assaults detectives identified Hartman as a possible suspect several weeks after the shooting. Further investigation led to Hartman being identified as the sole suspect in the incident.
On February 8, 2024, Hartman was arrested on an unrelated charge and subsequently interviewed by Major Assaults detectives. The Harris County District Attorney’s Office was contacted, and Hartman was charged in connection with the shooting case.
