Fatal Shooting in Beaumont: Bullet Pierces Window, Claims Victim’s Life

Beaumont Police responded to a shooting incident on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 10:44 p.m. at 6550 Phelan. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim inside an apartment. Despite efforts by Beaumont Fire & EMS, the victim was pronounced deceased. With recent reports and witness information, officers identified a possible suspect and detained him as he returned home.

Detectives revealed that the victim, identified as Aaron Robert, a 23-year-old Beaumont resident, was inside the apartment with the female tenant when a gunshot penetrated the window, fatally striking him. Following interviews, the suspect, Troy Cheek, a 25-year-old Beaumont resident, was arrested for Murder and taken to the Jefferson County Jail. The investigation is ongoing.
