BEAUMONT, Texas – An 18-year-old Beaumont man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that investigators believe was a targeted attack on a residence earlier this month.

According to the Beaumont Police Department, officers responded around 4 p.m. on May 16 to the 100 block of Rosine Street after receiving reports of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they discovered a residence had been struck by gunfire. Investigators recovered multiple shell casings from the area and learned the suspect or suspects fled the scene in a blue vehicle.

Authorities said preliminary findings indicate the shooting was targeted and not a random act of violence.

The investigation involved collaboration between patrol officers, the department’s Real Time Crime Center, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Criminal Investigations Division, and the Special Assignment Unit.

On May 27, investigators arrested 18-year-old Jatroya Green of Beaumont and charged him with aggravated assault in connection with the shooting.

Police also located and seized the vehicle believed to have been used during the incident as evidence.

Investigators believe additional suspects were involved and said the case remains active.
