Two Arrested for Felony Copper Theft at Beaumont’s Goodhue Building

Two individuals were arrested Monday afternoon, June 30, 2025, after Beaumont Police responded to a report of copper theft in progress at the Goodhue Building, located at 398 Pearl Street.
At approximately 2:45 p.m., a maintenance worker at the building contacted police after discovering cut copper and suspecting that individuals were still inside. Officers swiftly responded, entering the building and conducting a floor-by-floor search.
During their sweep, police located a significant amount of cut copper and various burglary tools staged within the stairwells. The search culminated on the 11th floor, where officers found and apprehended Jarrod Dobbs, 35, and Sasha Swofford, 41. Both suspects were taken into custody without incident.
Dobbs and Swofford were transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility and booked on charges of Felony Theft of Metal.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
