Three-Car Fatal Crash on Northwest Freeway: Suspects Flee Scene

On July 23, 2024, at 10:05 A.M., deputies from Constable Mark Herman’s Accident Investigation Division responded to the 16300 block of the Northwest Freeway following a fatal three-car crash. Investigators determined that a large box truck/cargo van failed to stop and collided with the back of another vehicle, resulting in the death of the driver.

Following the crash, at least three Hispanic male occupants exited the truck/van, inspected the damage, and fled the scene without providing any information and before law enforcement arrived.

The Accident Investigation Team is seeking public assistance to locate the suspects and their vehicle. The fleeing vehicle is described as a large 20 to 24-foot box truck/cargo van that was driving east on the Northwest Freeway approaching the on-ramps to the Sam Houston Toll Road.

Constable Mark Herman urges anyone with information on the suspect vehicle, the driver, or any dash camera footage of the collision to contact his office or local law enforcement.
