Man Charged With Murder After Fatal Stabbing in Houston’s Trinity-Houston Gardens Area
HOUSTON – A 27-year-old man has been charged with murder after a man was found fatally stabbed in a roadway Tuesday afternoon in northeast Houston, according to the Houston Police Department.
Brandon Jermond Lewis, 27, is charged with murder in the 176th Criminal District Court. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.
Houston police officers responded at approximately 2:35 p.m. Sept. 22 to the 8800 block of Lockwood Drive in the Trinity-Houston Gardens area after receiving a report of a man lying in the roadway with a stab wound.
Houston Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced the man dead at the scene.
According to HPD homicide detectives K. Winningham and J. Meister, multiple witnesses at the scene identified a suspect to responding officers.
Police located the suspect and attempted to detain him, leading to a brief foot pursuit, investigators said. Officers took Lewis into custody shortly afterward.
Following the initial investigation, Lewis was arrested and charged with murder in connection with the man’s death.
Police have not disclosed what investigators believe led to the stabbing, whether Lewis and the victim knew each other or where the confrontation began.
