Husband Turns in Wife for Alleged Theft of Father’s Car; Wife Arrested for Vehicle Burglary

On Monday, December 25, 2023, at approximately 14:00hrs, Cameron County Sheriff Deputies responded to a residence on the 32000 block of Barlow Rd., following a report of vehicle burglary. The complainant, a 34-year-old male, informed deputies that his wife, 30-year-old Cora Barron, allegedly took the keys from inside his father’s vehicle while he was working at the residence.

According to the complainant, Ms. Barron, after taking the keys, sent him a text message inquiring about how he would get home. Sheriff Investigators, assigned to the case, obtained a witness statement from the homeowner who confirmed seeing Ms. Barron at the residence on the day the keys were reportedly stolen.

Subsequently, Sheriff Investigators contacted the owner of the vehicle, the complainant’s father, who expressed a desire to press charges against Ms. Barron for burglarizing his vehicle. A warrant of arrest was obtained, authorizing the apprehension of Ms. Cora Barron for the offense of Burglary of Vehicle.

On January 17, 2024, Sheriff Deputies executed the arrest, taking Ms. Cora Barron into custody. She was transported to the Carrizales Rucker Detention Center, where she awaits arraignment. Ms. Barron faces charges of Burglary of Vehicle (TPC 30.04), classified as a Class A Misdemeanor.
