Houston Police Await Autopsy Results of Man Found Deceased Near the Bayou at 1301 Commerce Street
Authorities are awaiting autopsy results in the case of a man discovered dead at 1301 Commerce Street in the First Ward on Wednesday (Jan. 10) around 6:20 p.m.
The identity and cause of death of the individual are currently pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The discovery was made after a Harris County Precinct 1 Constable deputy was flagged down by a concerned citizen who reported a deceased man near the bayou at the specified address.
Upon arrival, Houston Police Department officers found the man’s body in an advanced state of decomposition under a pile of brush. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing, pending determination of the man’s manner and cause of death.
