High-Speed Pursuit Ends in Crash; Beaumont Police Kill Armed Suspect

On Sunday, February 4, 2024, at 7:05 AM, Beaumont Police Officers responded to a report of an aggravated family violence assault involving a gun in the 3800 block of North Major Drive. Upon their arrival, officers witnessed the suspect fleeing the scene in a silver GMC Sierra at a high rate of speed.

A brief pursuit ensued, resulting in the suspect crashing his vehicle in a ditch under the Eastex Freeway at the RFD underpass.

The suspect exited the vehicle and confronted officers with a firearm. In response, officers discharged their weapons, and the suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Beaumont Police Department says that no officers sustained injuries during the incident.
