As officers arrived, they observed a suspect, identified as 32-year-old Brian Murphy, attempting to flee the scene in a Ford F-150. A traffic stop was initiated as the vehicle exited the parking lot. An investigation of the vehicle led to the recovery of two firearms with extended magazines and narcotics.

Surveillance footage from FUSUS software showed Murphy discharging a firearm at several vehicles and individuals in the parking lot before police arrived. Real-time updates from a BPD Patrol Sergeant using the Real Time Crime Center technology played a crucial role in the successful apprehension of Murphy and the other occupants of the vehicle.

No victims were present at the scene when police arrived, though numerous witnesses were captured on camera, some narrowly avoiding being struck by gunfire. Beaumont Police are urging anyone present at the Shell station during the shooting to come forward and assist with the investigation. Murphy has been charged with Deadly Conduct and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. Cooperation from victims is vital for the advancement of the case.

The parking lot at 3145 Concord has been flagged as a problem area during late hours, with past incidents including a homicide, a severe beating, and multiple shootings. The Beaumont Police Department, working with SNS Grocery management, aims to address the ongoing issues at this location. SNS Grocery, one of the first businesses to integrate its cameras with the BPD’s Real Time Crime Center, was key in the response to this incident.
