Beaumont Murder Investigation: Adult Arrested, Teen Suspect Wanted for Homicide

On Wednesday, January 17, 2023, a murder warrant was issued by Judge Collins for Leroy Harris, a 42-year-old Beaumont man. The warrant is related to the murder of Ricky Yates, which occurred on December 3, 2023. The Beaumont Police Special Assignments Unit (SAU) successfully located Harris and brought him to the police station for questioning.

Following the interrogation with investigators, Harris was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility, where he was booked in on charges of murder. A substantial bond of 1 Million dollars has been set in connection with the case.

Investigators are also searching for Terrance Moore, a 17-year-old Beaumont resident. Initially considered a person of interest, a murder warrant for Moore was issued on Friday, January 12, 2023.
