BEAUMONT, Texas — A five-day law enforcement operation targeting violent crime across Southeast Texas resulted in dozens of arrests, the recovery of firearms and narcotics, and the capture of two homicide suspects, according to the Beaumont Police Department.
The Southeast Texas Violent Crime Task Force conducted the coordinated enforcement effort from June 2 through June 6 in areas identified as experiencing increased criminal activity.
The operation brought together local, state and federal law enforcement agencies with the goal of reducing violent crime, apprehending wanted offenders and improving public safety.
During the operation, officers and agents conducted 286 traffic stops and issued 132 citations. Authorities reported making 28 arrests, including 22 felony arrests, and serving 11 warrants.
