Victim Fatally Shot in Riverside Identified, No Suspect Identified Yet

In the early hours of Saturday, October 14, 2023, tragedy struck in the 1700 block of Burton Drive when the Austin Police Department (APD) received a distressing call about a shooting incident. APD officers arrived at the scene around 2:20 a.m., where they discovered 50-year-old Feliciano Alvarado-Lajuj suffering from gunshot wounds.

Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) also responded, providing immediate medical attention to Alvarado-Lajuj. Despite their efforts, Alvarado-Lajuj’s injuries proved fatal, and he was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

In the wake of the incident, Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Specialists were dispatched to the scene to investigate and process the area. Preliminary findings suggest that Alvarado-Lajuj was shot in the parking lot, presumably by an unidentified suspect who fled the vicinity.
