Manhunt Underway for Wanted Subject After High-Speed Chase in Beaumont

The Beaumont Police Department (BPD) is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 25-year-old Jakalan T. Young, who fled from officers after a high-speed chase on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

BPD patrol officers spotted Young, who had outstanding warrants, sitting in a vehicle outside the Municipal Court in downtown Beaumont. As officers approached, Young fled in the vehicle, running traffic lights and stop signs, and driving recklessly through downtown, endangering citizens and officers.

Young abandoned the vehicle in the area of Bowie & Holmes Streets and fled on foot, possibly being picked up by another vehicle. He is considered dangerous.

Young may still be in the Beaumont area or may have traveled to Houston.
