Houston Police Seek Two Suspects in Attempted Carjacking Along North Freeway

HOUSTON, Texas — Houston police are asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects involved in an attempted robbery-carjacking incident along the North Freeway earlier this year.

According to the Houston Police Department Robbery Division, the incident occurred at approximately 7 p.m. on April 21, 2026, in the 5700 block of the North Freeway feeder road.

Investigators said a woman was driving when a rock was thrown at her vehicle, striking and damaging the windshield.

The driver stopped and observed a Black male near the area where the rock had been thrown. Police said she exited her vehicle and pursued the suspect on foot, but he managed to escape.

While the driver was chasing the suspect, a witness who had been riding in the vehicle moved it to a nearby business parking lot and went to seek assistance.

During that time, a second suspect, described as a White male, entered the vehicle and allegedly attempted to steal it while another occupant remained inside.

Authorities said the witness confronted the second suspect, preventing the theft before he fled the area on foot.

The first suspect is described only as a Black male.

The second suspect is described as a White male wearing a dark-colored shirt, light-colored jeans and light-colored shoes.

The case is being investigated under Houston Police Department case number 512700-26.

Anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of either suspect is urged to contact Crime Stoppers of Houston. Information leading to the arrest or charging of a felony suspect may qualify for a reward of up to $5,000.
