Seven Men Arrested in Harris County Undercover Prostitution Sting

HOUSTON, Texas – Seven men were arrested during a two-day undercover operation targeting people accused of soliciting prostitution in Harris County, according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The operation was conducted Monday, Aug. 31, and Tuesday, Sept. 1, by the Sheriff’s Office Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit, known as HEAT, with assistance from several other HCSO investigative units.

All seven men arrested were charged with solicitation of prostitution. The Sheriff’s Office did not release their names or provide details about where the undercover operation took place.

HCSO said the operation was designed to target the demand for commercial sex that authorities say can contribute to human trafficking and the exploitation of vulnerable people.

“This operation sends a clear message that we are actively pursuing those who fuel the demand for human trafficking,” Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said. “By holding buyers accountable, we can disrupt exploitation, protect vulnerable people and help victims move toward safety.”

The operation also involved members of HCSO’s Undercover Operations Unit, Auto Theft Proactive Unit, Missing Persons Unit, Adult Sex Crimes Unit, High Tech Crimes Unit, District 1 Crime Reduction Unit and Baytown Investigations Unit.

The Sheriff’s Office said its human trafficking investigators also work with advocates and community organizations to connect trafficking victims with shelter, relocation assistance and other services.
