Houston Police Investigate Fatal Shooting and Apparent Suicide

Houston, TX – Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a 36-year-old woman and the apparent suicide of a 35-year-old man on Tuesday night at 10000 Morocco Road. The incident occurred around 9:20 p.m.

The identities of the deceased are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

According to HPD Homicide Division Lieutenant J. Horn and Sergeant C. Ponder, patrol officers responded to the scene after receiving reports of a shooting. A witness stated they saw a female walking westbound being pursued by a male armed with a gun. Moments later, multiple gunshots were heard, although no one witnessed the shooting itself.

Upon arrival, officers found the woman with multiple gunshot wounds and the man with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced both individuals dead at the scene.

Further investigation revealed that the two individuals had been married and were recently divorced.

The investigation is ongoing.
