Fatal Head-On Collision on S IH 45 Claims Two Lives in League City

In the early hours of the morning, tragedy struck on the 2900 block of S IH 45 as a major vehicle collision claimed the lives of an adult woman and an adult man.

At approximately 3:21 a.m., multiple callers alerted the League City Police Department to a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction – Northbound in the Southbound main lanes of S IH 45. The situation quickly escalated, leading to a devastating head-on collision between two vehicles. Witnesses reported that one of the vehicles involved was fully engulfed in flames.

Upon arrival, LCPD officers and League Fire Department personnel discovered a female driver as the sole occupant of one vehicle, and a female driver with a male passenger in the other. Tragically, the female driver who was alone and the male passenger were pronounced dead at the scene. The female driver from the second vehicle was rushed to a local hospital and is currently in critical condition.

The League City Police Department Crash Team is actively conducting a comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision.
