Austin Homeowner Confronts Armed Suspect in Vehicle Break-In

In the early hours of Friday, December 29, 2023, at approximately 2:16 a.m., a homeowner became the target of a vehicle break-in, resulting in a confrontation with an armed suspect.

The incident unfolded when the homeowner was awakened by the sound of the suspect breaking into his vehicle. Undeterred, the victim pursued the suspect as he attempted to flee the scene. In the course of the pursuit, the suspect brandished a 9mm handgun and discharged multiple rounds at the victim’s vehicle before making his escape in a stolen white Hyundai.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, aged late teens to 25, with a small, thin build. He was last seen wearing a distinctive white, red, and blue hoodie with “Polo” on the right sleeve and “1967” on the left sleeve. Additionally, he wore black or dark blue shorts with white print, and white and black shoes with red at the toe.

Authorities are urging anyone with information or video footage related to the incident to come forward. A potential reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect.
