Texas City Man Charged With Murder After Woman Found Shot to Death

TEXAS CITY, Texas — A 73-year-old man has been charged with murder after a woman was found dead from an apparent gunshot wound at a Texas City residence Thursday afternoon.
According to the Texas City Police Department, officers responded at approximately 3 p.m. on June 25 to a welfare concern in the 7200 block of Mallard Drive.
When officers arrived, they found 42-year-old Angela Gray of Texas City suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the chest. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an investigation, Texas City Police investigators filed a murder charge against 73-year-old Lee Andrew Sims. The charge was accepted by VAWA Chief Kate Willis.
Sims was arrested and booked into the Texas City Jail, where he is being held on a $250,000 bond pending further judicial proceedings.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
