El Paso Man Arrested in Connection with Multiple Catalytic Converter Thefts

David Earl Hardy, a 24-year-old resident of El Paso, was arrested on January 7, 2025, for his suspected involvement in several catalytic converter thefts across the city. Officers with the El Paso Police Department’s Auto Theft Task Force apprehended Hardy at around 12:00 PM in the 1400 block of Goodyear.

Hardy is facing three counts of theft of catalytic converters under $30,000 for replacement. He was booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility, where his bond was set at $7,500. The investigation into Hardy’s involvement in the thefts is ongoing.
