17-Year-Old Arrested for Murder in January Beaumont Homicide

Beaumont Police have arrested 17-year-old Giovanni Coleman in connection with the January 24, 2025, shooting death of 24-year-old Deshawndrey Bowman.

Detectives obtained a murder warrant for Coleman, and with assistance from the U.S. Marshals Task Force, he was taken into custody on Monday, February 3. Following an interview with Beaumont Police detectives, Coleman was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on a murder charge.

Original Incident:
On January 24, 2025, at approximately 6:44 p.m., Beaumont Police responded to a shooting near Brooklyn and Madison. Officers located Bowman inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a hospital in critical condition and later succumbed to his injuries on January 27.
