Human Skull Discovery Leads to Investigation in Beaumont

On December 6, 2024, Beaumont Police Department detectives were contacted by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) regarding a resident in possession of a human skull. Investigators confirmed the skull’s existence and learned it was originally discovered on October 29 near the 6200 block of Helbig Road in Beaumont.

HCSO and Beaumont Police officers responded to the wooded area described by the individual who found the skull. During a search of the location, investigators uncovered additional human remains. The Jefferson County Crime Lab processed the scene the following morning.

The investigation remains active, and authorities have not yet identified the remains or determined the circumstances surrounding the discovery.
