Two Teens Charged After 14-Year-Old Shot at Conroe Apartment Complex

CONROE, Texas — Two juveniles have been charged following a shooting that left a 14-year-old boy wounded at a Conroe apartment complex Thursday morning, according to the Conroe Police Department.
Officers responded at approximately 6:14 a.m. on June 18 to a report of a disturbance involving weapons at the Alta Sergeant Apartments, located at 650 Sgt. Ed Holcomb Boulevard North.
When officers arrived, they found a 14-year-old male in the parking lot suffering from a single gunshot wound.
Patrol officers immediately rendered medical aid until Montgomery County EMS arrived and transported the teen to a local hospital.
Police said the victim was alert and conscious when officers reached him. He is currently listed in stable condition.
During the investigation, officers located the apartment where the shooting occurred and learned that two juvenile males, ages 14 and 15, were present when the shooting happened. Both suspects had fled before police arrived.
Conroe Police detectives and crime scene investigators responded to process the scene and continue the investigation.
A few hours later, authorities located both juvenile suspects and took them into custody.
Each suspect was charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second-degree felony, and transported to the Montgomery County Juvenile Detention Center.
Because all individuals involved are juveniles, police are not releasing their identities.
The investigation remains ongoing, and officials said no additional details are being released at this time.
Conroe Police Chief Jon Buckholtz and members of the department expressed their support for the injured teen and his family as the case moves forward.
