Montgomery County Detectives Arrest Spring Man on Family Violence Strangulation Charge
SPRING, Texas – A 37-year-old Spring man has been arrested after Montgomery County Precinct 3 detectives obtained a felony warrant alleging he assaulted a family member by impeding the victim’s breathing during a domestic violence incident.
According to Constable Ryan Gable’s Office, deputies responded to a reported family violence assault at a residence in Spring on Friday, August 7th.
During the investigation, deputies determined that Alfonso J. Aguilar, 37, allegedly assaulted the victim by applying pressure to the person’s neck, restricting the victim’s ability to breathe, before fleeing the scene.
The victim was evaluated at a hospital, where medical personnel documented injuries consistent with the reported assault.
Suspect Arrested at The Woodlands Hotel
After reviewing the initial investigation, Precinct 3 detectives established probable cause and obtained an arrest warrant charging Aguilar with Assault of a Family Member by Impeding Breath or Circulation, a third-degree felony under Texas law.
On Monday, August 10th, detectives located Aguilar at a hotel in The Woodlands and took him into custody without incident.
He was booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
Authorities Stress Seriousness of Strangulation Cases
Constable Ryan Gable’s Office emphasized that strangulation is a serious and potentially deadly form of family violence.
