Uber Driver Arrested for Solicitation of Minors in Montgomery County
Josiah Carroll

CONROE, TX — A rideshare driver is in custody and facing multiple felony charges after authorities uncovered a pattern of predatory behavior involving underage passengers. Josiah Carroll was arrested following a joint investigation by the Montgomery County Precinct 1 Constable’s Office ICAC Task Force and the Magnolia Police Department.

The investigation began in April 2026 after Sgt. J. Serratt received a report alleging that an Uber driver had sent sexually explicit images to a minor.

Abuse of the Rideshare Platform

According to investigators, Carroll utilized his position as an Uber driver to build rapport with a minor passenger. During the ride, he allegedly exchanged personal contact information with the minor, which he later used to transmit explicit material.

Following a forensic review of the digital evidence, Sgt. Serratt obtained an arrest warrant. Carroll was initially charged with Online Solicitation of a Minor, a second-degree felony.

Identification of Second Victim

As the ICAC Task Force expanded its probe, a detective with the Magnolia Police Department identified a second potential victim. A separate parent had filed a similar complaint involving their child and the same driver. Based on the evidence in this second case, Carroll faces an additional charge of Solicitation of Prostitution of a Minor.

Safety Warning for Parents

In light of the arrest, Constable Cash and Magnolia Police Chief Montgomery are urging parents to exercise extreme caution regarding minors using rideshare services alone.

“Parents should speak with their children about the dangers of online predators and the risks of sharing personal contact information with strangers, even those in service roles,” officials stated.
