On October 5, 2025, around 7:28 a.m., Beaumont Police officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 1400 block of Orange Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a man inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. Beaumont EMS responded to the scene and pronounced the victim, 34-year-old Joseph Bihm, deceased.

As detectives began their investigation, officers were able to identify a suspect vehicle connected to the shooting. The vehicle was later located during a traffic stop, and the driver was detained as a person of interest.
