Man Arrested, Automatic Weapons Seized in North Houston Drug Bust

HOUSTON—A search warrant executed at a north Houston apartment on Friday led to the seizure of a large quantity of drugs and multiple firearms, including three devices that convert handguns into fully automatic weapons.
Deputies with Constable Jerry Garcia’s Special Operations Unit, assisted by the U.S. Marshals and DEA, executed a search warrant at a known drug house in the 16000 block of Ella Blvd. The warrant was obtained as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
During the search, authorities found drugs “all throughout the apartment.” They located approximately 7,881 pounds of illegal THC cartridges and edibles, along with 15 pounds of marijuana.
In addition to the drugs, deputies seized 11 firearms and three “Glock switches,” which are illegal devices that can be attached to a Glock pistol to make it fully automatic. Two of the switches were already attached to pistols.
A suspect, identified as Alexis Palomino, 20, was found and taken into custody without incident. He has been charged with felony possession of marijuana and felony possession of a prohibited weapon.
Constable Garcia thanked the assisting agencies for their help and affirmed his commitment to targeting illegal activity in the area.
