Woman Found Dead in Parked Car After Shooting Reported in West Houston

HOUSTON — A woman was found fatally shot Friday evening in a parked car in northwest Harris County.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded around 7:26 p.m. to a “Discharge of Firearm” call in the 6200 block of Sierra Blanca Drive in the West Bend area. When they arrived, they located 40-year-old Krystal Degeyter unresponsive inside a vehicle with a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS personnel.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators collected forensic evidence and interviewed witnesses as part of the preliminary investigation. Authorities said they are actively following up on leads.
