Harris County Deputies Investigating Fatal Shooting at North Houston Apartment Complex

HOUSTON — A 20-year-old man was found fatally shot Thursday afternoon at an apartment complex in north Harris County.

Deputies with the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded at about 3:30 p.m. to The Standard at Champions apartments at 6701 West FM 1960. When they arrived, they found the victim, identified as Troy Styles, unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators said Styles’ mother had tracked his phone to the location and discovered he had been shot. Detectives believe the shooting occurred the night before, though the circumstances leading up to it remain unclear.
