Man Wanted After Woman Shot in Face and Hand at Beaumont Home

Beaumont Police are searching for 39-year-old Charles Leaven in connection with a shooting that occurred late Tuesday night on July 8, 2025.

At approximately 11:35 p.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Poplar Street after receiving a report of a shooting victim. When officers arrived, they found a female suffering from gunshot wounds to her face and hand. Officers administered first aid until EMS arrived, and the victim was transported to a local hospital in serious but stable condition.

According to the preliminary investigation, Leaven arrived at the victim’s residence and fired multiple rounds into the home before fleeing the scene in a black Chevy truck. Detectives with the Family Violence Unit obtained an aggravated assault arrest warrant for Leaven on Wednesday.
