Woman Tries to Hit Harris County Deputy With Vehicle During Welfare Check

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A woman was arrested Saturday after authorities said she attempted to strike a deputy with her vehicle and led law enforcement on a brief pursuit in northwest Harris County.
According to Harris County Constable Precinct 4, deputies with Constable Mark Herman’s office responded May 9, 2026, to the 11410 block of Louetta Road for a welfare check after reports that someone had remained inside a vehicle for more than an hour.
Authorities said that upon arrival, the driver suddenly put the vehicle in reverse and nearly struck responding patrol units. Investigators said the driver then drove toward a deputy in what deputies described as an apparent attempt to hit the deputy with the vehicle.
Deputies attempted a traffic stop, but the driver allegedly refused to stop, leading officers on a brief pursuit before the vehicle was safely stopped.
The driver was identified as 34-year-old Eryn Wilson, according to authorities.
Wilson was arrested and booked into the Harris County Jail on charges of Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle and Aggravated Assault of a Peace Officer.
Officials said her total bond was set at $20,000 by the 339th District Court.
“Our deputies respond to calls for service every day with the goal of helping and protecting the community,” Herman said in a statement. “Assaulting a peace officer and fleeing from law enforcement will not be tolerated, and I am thankful our deputies were able to safely apprehend the suspect without injury.”
