Two Arrested in Connection with Aggravated Robbery at Brownsville Pawn Shop
Ricardo Garza Jr. and Oscar Rodarte

Ricardo Garza Jr., 19, and Oscar Rodarte, 22, were arrested on Thursday, March 20, 2025, in connection with an aggravated robbery at First Cash Pawn, located in the 4200 block of Southmost Blvd.

Garza faces the following charges:

  • Aggravated Robbery (1st Degree Felony)
  • Four counts of Aggravated Assault Against a Public Servant (1st Degree Felony)
  • Four counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (2nd Degree Felony)
  • Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon (Class A Misdemeanor)
  • Theft of Firearm (State Jail Felony)
  • Unlawful Possession of Firearm by Felon (3rd Degree Felony)
  • Unlawful Possession of Body Armor by Felon (3rd Degree Felony)

Garza also had an outstanding arrest warrant from Weslaco PD for larceny.

Rodarte is facing the following charges:

  • Aggravated Robbery (1st Degree Felony)
  • Four counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (2nd Degree Felony)
  • Evading Arrest in a Motor Vehicle (State Jail Felony)
  • Theft of Firearm (State Jail Felony)

Rodarte also had two active arrest warrants from San Benito PD for First-Degree Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Garza’s bond is set at $533,000, while Rodarte’s bond is set at $270,000.
