Suspect Sought in Shooting at Austin’s Lakeline Mall

Austin Police Department’s (APD) Aggravated Assault Unit Detectives are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a shooting that occurred at Lakeline Mall on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at approximately 3:55 p.m. The incident took place inside the mall, located at 11200 block of Lakeline Mall Drive.

According to investigators, the suspect and a victim fled the scene immediately following the shooting. At the time, authorities were unaware that the victim had been injured due to a delay in seeking medical attention. Evidence at the scene did not immediately suggest any injuries. However, it was later confirmed that the victim sustained minor injuries and self-reported to the hospital after leaving the location.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his late teens to early 20s. He was last seen wearing a black hoodie, dark pants, and dark shoes.

Tips can be submitted anonymously through the Capital Area Crime Stoppers Program at austincrimestoppers.org or by calling 512-472-8477. A reward of up to $1,000 may be available for information leading to an arrest.
