Man Arrested in 2025 Manor Homicide After 10-Month Investigation

MANOR, Texas – A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the 2025 killing of a Manor resident following a 10-month homicide investigation.

According to the Manor Police Department, officers responded at approximately 10:24 a.m. on Sept. 25, 2025, to the 500 block of Llano Street for a welfare check.

When officers arrived, they found a man with obvious traumatic injuries. The victim, identified as Donald McVade, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said investigators from the department’s Criminal Investigations Division, patrol officers and crime scene personnel spent the next 10 months working to identify the person responsible for McVade’s death.

On July 13, 2026, detectives obtained a warrant charging 23-year-old Afamefula Bishop Egwu with first-degree murder.

On July 20, Egwu was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Austin and booked into the Travis County Central Booking facility. His bond was set at $1 million.

The Manor Police Department credited the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, Travis County Medical Examiner’s Office, Travis County District Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service for assisting with the investigation and arrest.

Police said no additional information will be released as the case moves through the judicial process.
