Houston Police Seek Person of Interest in Fatal Shooting at Bus Stop

HOUSTON, Texas – Houston police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest wanted for questioning in the fatal shooting of a 51-year-old man at a bus stop in southwest Houston.

The victim has been identified as Amond Morrison, 51.

The shooting occurred at approximately 5:40 p.m. on July 25 in the 13200 block of Fondren Road in the Fondren Gardens area.

Houston Police Department patrol officers responded to a report of a suspicious person at a bus stop and found Morrison suffering from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics with the Houston Fire Department transported Morrison to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to Houston Police Department Homicide Division detectives, the investigation determined Morrison had been involved in a verbal altercation with another man at the bus stop before the shooting.

The suspect fled the scene on foot.

Detectives have since identified an unknown male as a person of interest in the case and are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying him. Police emphasized that the individual is wanted for questioning and has not been charged with a crime.
