Study Abroad Opportunities for Texas High School Students, Explore The World With International Student Exchange Program

In a bid to foster international understanding and cultivate intercultural relationships, the ASSE International Student Exchange Program is offering high school students in the United States a remarkable opportunity to spend an academic year, semester, or summer abroad in various countries across the globe.

The program is open to students aged 15 to 18, and eligibility is determined based on academic performance, character references, and a genuine desire to immerse themselves in life abroad with a volunteer host family. Notably, prior knowledge of the host country’s language is not a requirement for participation. ASSE offers scholarships to deserving students, with awards based on academic achievements, leadership skills, and financial need.

Participating students will be placed with carefully screened host families in countries spanning Europe, Asia, North and South America, Australia, and South Africa. While students need not be fluent in the host country’s language before departure, they will have the opportunity to acquire language skills by immersing themselves in the local culture and attending regular high school classes alongside their new international friends.

The ASSE International Student Exchange Program not only benefits American students but also provides an extraordinary experience to American families interested in hosting international students. These students hail from countries such as Spain, Italy, Germany, Ukraine, Thailand, Japan, and many others. Host families will welcome these exceptional young students into their homes for an academic year or semester, allowing them to experience life in an American high school.

Students or families interested in learning more about becoming an ASSE exchange student or host family should contact ASSE at 1-800-677-2773, visit www.asse.com or send an email to asseusaeast@asse.com.
