South Texas Man Arrested for Aggravated Assault After $50 Debt Dispute Escalates
On Wednesday, January 24, 2024, Cameron County Sheriff Deputies responded to an incident at a business situated on the 30000 block of FM 1479, San Benito, Texas. Upon their arrival, deputies engaged with a 65-year-old male victim, who reported an altercation with 36-year-old Jesus Millazzo. The victim claimed that Millazzo confronted him, accusing him of owing $50. According to the victim, he walked away from Millazzo, leading to an escalation of tension.
In response, Millazzo allegedly picked up a “2×4” piece of wood and struck the victim in the back, causing pain and discomfort. Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene to evaluate the victim’s injuries. Sheriff Deputies corroborated the victim’s statement by observing injuries on the victim and identifying the weapon used in the assault.
Upon questioning, Millazzo admitted to striking the victim with the stick, asserting that the assault was a result of the victim’s refusal to pay the owed $50. As a result, Sheriff Deputies arrested Jesus Millazzo and transported him to the Carrizales Rucker Detention Center pending arraignment. Millazzo is now facing charges of Aggravated Assault TPC 22.02, a 2nd Degree Felony.
