Prostitution Sting in Lufkin Leads to Arrest and Closure of Massage Parlors

The Lufkin Police Department spearheaded a joint operation targeting massage parlor prostitution on Thursday, resulting in the arrest of one woman for prostitution and the closure of two establishments. The sting, prompted by citizen complaints, focused on Blue Water Spa and Lufkin Massage.

Assisted by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Angelina County Sheriff’s Office, and Nacogdoches County Sheriff’s Office, detectives investigated alleged illicit activities at the two massage parlos. Representatives from Unbound Now and Family Crisis Center of East Texas joined to offer assistance to potential sex trafficking victims.

City of Lufkin Code Enforcement shut down the businesses for ordinance violations, including the revelation that Lufkin Massage employees were residing on the premises.

Assistant City Manager Gerald Williamson emphasized the gravity of the situation, stating, “We will be having conversations with the property owners to make sure they’re fully aware of how sinister these places are and the tragic effects they have on people who are trafficked.”

Williamson reiterated the city’s commitment to combating such activities, saying, “We in Lufkin watch for this type of activity and we never intend to allow it in our community. We will take strong enforcement action any time we see it.”

The investigation remains ongoing, and individuals with information are urged to contact the Lufkin Police Department or Crime Stoppers.
