Montgomery County Babysitter Arrested on Child Indecency Charge; Detectives Fear More Victims
Evan Moore

CONROE, TX — A 21-year-old local babysitter and nanny has been arrested by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office following a child abuse investigation, prompting a widespread appeal for potential additional victims to contact law enforcement.

Evan Joseph Moore was taken into custody without incident on Wednesday, June 17, 2026. He faces an initial charge of Indecency with a Child, with investigators indicating that further charges are possible as the forensic and field investigations progress.

Abuse Disclosed by Child Under 14

The case was initiated by detectives with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) after they received formal allegations of misconduct involving Moore.

According to authorities, Moore had worked throughout the Montgomery County area for several years offering child care services as a private babysitter and nanny. During interviews with specialized forensic investigators, a juvenile victim under the age of 14 disclosed being sexually abused by Moore while under his care.

Authority Appeal for Potential Additional Victims

Because of Moore’s multi-year employment history as a caregiver for families in local neighborhoods, SVU detectives expressed deep concern that other children may have been compromised.

“Due to Moore’s prior employment as a caregiver for children in the community, investigators believe there may be additional victims,” the Sheriff’s Office stated in a public safety briefing. “The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who may have been a victim of Evan Moore to come forward.”

Families whose children had contact with Moore or anyone possessing information relevant to his employment history are urged to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit at 936-760-5876.
