Livingston Man Arrested for Providing Fatal Dose of Heroin and Methamphetamine

A 62-year-old man from Livingston, Texas, Douglas Edward Hendon, has been arrested and charged with Delivery of a Controlled Substance causing Death in connection with a fatal overdose that occurred in Montgomery County in November 2024.

Detectives with the Montgomery County Narcotics Enforcement Team (MOCONET) responded to a residence in the 12000 block of Ridgecrest Drive on November 19, 2024, to investigate the death of a 43-year-old male. Evidence at the scene suggested a possible overdose from illicit narcotics.

An autopsy conducted by the Montgomery County Forensic Center confirmed that the victim’s death was due to the toxic effects of Heroin and Methamphetamine.

Further investigation identified Douglas Hendon as the individual who allegedly supplied the Heroin and Methamphetamine to the deceased. An arrest warrant was obtained, and Hendon was apprehended on April 7, 2025.

Hendon was transported to the Montgomery County Jail and charged with the first-degree felony of Delivery of a Controlled Substance causing Death. His bond was set at $103,000.

MOCONET is a collaborative task force comprised of multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Walker County Sheriff’s Office, Texas Department of Public Safety-CID, Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Homeland Security Investigation, and the Drug Enforcement Administration. The task force aims to combat drug distribution throughout the region through a coordinated effort.
